Reason #1 Mike Huckabee has Superior Character
Mike Huckabee is a Christian man who is open and passionate
about his faith who after coming to salvation through Jesus Christ
has demonstrated years of commitment to his Lord and to the local
church. Huckabee is a devoted husband and father who has remained
faithful to his only wife without moral scandal. His children
are loyal to him and support his candidacy. Mike Huckabee keeps
his word and is a statesman with the highest personal integrity.
His character like hardened steel has been tempered by handling
crisis under pressure such as his famous show down with former
Arkansas Gov. and convicted felon Jim Guy Tucker when Tucker
at the last moment determined not to step down from office. On
that occasion and others Huckabee’s courage was demonstrated
as he handled matters with poise, calm, and with resolute integrity.
Without question Mike Huckabee truly understands the importance
of charter in leadership as underscored in his book released
back 1997 entitled Character is the Issue.
Reason #2 Mike Huckabee has Superior Convictions
Mike Huckabee with consistency and passion has stood for his
convictions throughout his public life. Besides holding his own
in his overall conservative positions in foreign and domestic
policy including supporting a fair tax plan that would eliminate
the IRS, he has by far the overwhelming most outstanding record
on the great social and moral issues confronting our time. Without
question, there is no other candidate in the top tier among the
Republican Party primary candidates that has stood as passionately
and consistently for the pro-life and pro-family cause than Mike
Huckabee. He is strongly opposed to abortion and gay marriage
and as Governor of the state of Arkansas led the state clearly
on these and other vital moral issues. Mike Huckabee is a true
ideological conservative with the clearest set of conservative
convictions.
• Rudy Giuliani is openly pro-abortion. He claimed in
the first primary debate at the Regan Library that he would appoint
strict constructionist judges that he said, “May or may
not see a right to an abortion in the Constitution”.
Rudy neither is committed to the pro-life cause nor does
he understand
what a strict constructionist view of the Constitution truly
is. Despite his reassurances, it is obvious that his Supreme
Court nominations could likely be disastrous.
• Mitt Romney was pro-life before he changed to being
pro-abortion when he ran for Governor of Massachusetts. Now
that he is running for President he has changed back to being
pro-life.
As he prepared to mount his bid for the White House, Romney
changed his mind only around two years ago on abortion, gay
marriage,
and gun control. In essences he seems to be a political chameleon
with no real commitment to any convictions except to the
conviction of getting himself elected.
• Fred Thompson claims to be a social conservative and
says that he had a pro-life voting record in the U. S. Senate.
However he has openly said that he does not believe it is
best to support either a constitutional amendment to define
marriage
as being a union between a man and a woman. He has also recently
said that if Roe vs. Wade were overturned, he would not support
a constitutional amendment to ban abortion nationwide. This
in addition to previous statements in which he said that if
Roe
vs. Wade were overturned and he were a legislator in his
home state of Tennessee that he would not vote to criminalize
abortion.
It is abundantly clear that Fred Thompson has no real pro-
life convictions nor any real commitment to stop the liberal
gay agenda
and the unraveling of the fabric of the traditional view
of marriage. Fred Thompson has attempted to appeal to social
conservative
as if he were a social conservative but in the end he is
not.
• John McCain is very much like Fred Thompson.
Mike Huckabee is the only electable viable candidate with momentum
who truly has the convictions that social conservatives are looking
for. On these issues he is by far the best conservative candidate
to have any real chance at being elected. Mike Huckabee has superior
convictions.
Reason #3 Mike Huckabee has Superior Credentials
Mike Huckabee is a proven leader. Before entering politics,
Mike Huckabee pastored churches in Pine Bluff and Texarkana,
Arkansas giving him valuable hands on experience ministering
to real people with real needs. At this time he also created
a communications broadcast ministry and refined his communication
skills. As a statesman, Huckabee served his state as Lieutenant
Governor for three years and Governor of the state of Arkansas
for ten and a half years. Mike Huckabee has more executive office
experience than any other candidate in either party. He has dealt
with a wide range of legislative and executive issues. From hacking
out budget issues with the opposition party to providing emergency
disaster relief and housing for Hurricane Katrina refugees in
which Huckabee lead the way by mobilizing the private sector
including churches and private charities to swiftly step in with
better services that government bureaucracy could provide. Furthermore
as a Republican Governor with a vastly outnumbered Democratic
controlled Legislature, Mike Huckabee knows how build coalitions
and work with the opposition to get things done while still remaining
true to his core principles. Mike Huckabee has tremendous leadership
capabilities that stem from his character, his convictions, and
his ability to communicate.
Reason #4 Mike Huckabee is a Superior Communicator
Mike Huckabee is a superior communicator. Over the years there
have been politicians who have come and gone. Some have had the
right stands on the issues, but have lacked the character and
integrity to lead the people. Some have had good communication
skills but have not had the character and also with misplaced
convictions have attempted to lead us in the wrong direction.
Others have had the character and the right convictions but have
lacked the communication skills to inform and inspire the public
to follow their lead. Mike Huckabee not only has the necessary
character and the right convictions, but he has the communication
skills to drive his message home and lead the people. Whether
it is in a debate with his opponents, a stump speech at campaign
stop, or whether it will be as President in with the bully pulpit,
or handling a press conference, there has simply not been a more
exciting and effective communicator to run for public office
since Ronald Wilson Reagan. In fact, if elected, history will
likely prove that Mike Huckabee will go down as an even more
effective communicator than the Great Communicator himself. How
desperately his skills are needed to persuade those who have
had their thinking muddled in our confusing times. Huckabee is
the candidate that is the superior communicator.
Conclusion
It is my contention, that with the character of Mike Huckabee,
with his convictions, his credentials, and added to that his
great communication skills, we have in this man a superior candidate.
Mike Huckabee is a Superior Candidate for President of the United
States of America. I urgently plead with you to consider supporting
Mike Huckabee as your candidate for President as well. Take action
